Excitation systems and appurtenances. Includes the removal of existing excitation equipment and replacement with new, fully static, digital excitation systems at up to eight hydropower generation plants along the cumberland river, including design, engineering, manufacturing, shop testing, installation, commissioning, and validation testing suitable for use by serc reliability corporation. Specific tasks performed include replacement of excitation systems at cordell hull, old hickory, and other nashville district power plants. The contractor is responsible for furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment required to complete these upgrades.

Dec 2020: Canadian Commercial Corp., Ottawa, Ontario, was awarded a $30,000,000 firm-fixed-price contract for the removal of existing excitation equipment and replacement of solid-state excitation equipment/systems.  Bids were solicited via the internet with seven received.  Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 17, 2030.  The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville, Tennessee, is the contracting activity (W912P5-21-D-0002).
