Government Description
Mississippi river basin, mechanical dredging indefinite delivery indefinite quantity on the Mississippi river. The US Army corps of engineers, rock island district, requires maintenance dredging by mechanical dredge within the district's area of responsibility (AOR) of the Mississippi river federal navigation project. Includes dredging within the federal navigation channel and small boat harbors to authorized depths, transporting dredged material to designated placement sites up to 12 river miles away, and placing material at government furnished sites including upland, bankline, and thalweg locations. Upland placement sites may require earthwork, grubbing, seeding, grading, and preparatory work to meet state water quality requirements, and contractors must communicate with lockmasters and maritime users to minimize impacts to vessel traffic, adjacent utilities, and dredging operations.
