Duke Energy Progress LLC, Wilmington, North Carolina, has been awarded an estimated $248,000,000 fixed-price contract for 4.8 million megawatt hours of carbon pollution-free electricity to military installations. This was a sole-source acquisition using justification 10 U.S. Code 2922 (a), as stated in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1. This is an 18-year contract with no option periods. Locations of performance are North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, with a Sept. 1, 2041, delivery order end date. Using military services are Army, Air Force and Marine Corps.
