Government Description
RAST SYSTEM 4 YR IDIQ. THE RECOVERY ASSIST SECURE AND TRAVERSE (RAST) SYSTEM IS USED ON AIR CAPABLE SHIPS TO GUIDE HELICOPTERS TO THE DECK, SECURE THE AIRCRAFT, AND TRAVERSE IT TO OR FROM THE HANGAR UNDER VARIOUS ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS, SUPPORTING MISSION REQUIREMENTS IN SEA STATES UP TO 5 DURING OPERATION AND UP TO 8 WHILE STOWED. THE SYSTEM PROVIDES RECOVERY STATUS TO THE LANDING SAFETY OFFICER (LSO) AND ALLOWS FOR LANDING ABORTS PRIOR TO SECURING THE AIRCRAFT. WORK PERFORMED INCLUDES PROVIDING RAST SYSTEMS (LESS RSD), SUPPLYING RAST SYSTEM DDG KITS, AND SUPPORTING SCIB CNC MACHINE AND LATHE OPERATIONS.
