DIESEL ENGINES LIFECYCLE SUPPORT SERVICES PROVIDED FOR ENGINE LINES AND RELATED SHIPBOARD AUXILIARY AND SUPPORT SYSTEMS. INCLUDES LIFECYCLE, MODERNIZATION, AND IN-SERVICE SUPPORT INVOLVING ENGINEERING INVESTIGATIONS, TECHNICAL ISSUE RESOLUTION, FAILURE ANALYSIS, ROOT CAUSE DETERMINATION, DAMAGE ASSESSMENT, REPAIR SCOPING, PRODUCT IMPROVEMENTS, NEW TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION, TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION, AND TESTING AND EVALUATION. ADDITIONAL TASKS INCLUDE LOGISTICS SUPPORT SUCH AS ENGINE CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT, PARTS PROVISIONING, MAINTENANCE STANDARDS, AND TECHNICAL MANUALS, AS WELL AS ENGINE TRAINING SERVICES AND PROGRAM MANAGEMENT. SPECIFIC WORK PERFORMED INCLUDES EMERGENT FAILURE ANALYSIS, DAMAGE ASSESSMENT, AND REPAIR SCOPING FOR LSD 47 SSDG.
