Government Description
Propulsor demonstration hardware. The Advanced Propulsor Management Office (APMO) in the naval architecture and engineering department (department 80) of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) manages the Research and Development (R&D), design, testing, and delivery of US Navy submarine propulsors. Includes developing manufacturing design drawings and engineering specifications for prototype propulsors, shafting, and bearing components; fabricating scaled and full-scale hardware suitable for at-sea demonstration; supporting vendor qualification of fleet hardware and production efforts outside existing contracts; and conducting manufacturing engineering studies to assess production feasibility. The contractor ensures compliance with technical standards such as MIL-STD-31000B and S9074 for welding and inspection.

BAE Systems Land & Armaments L.P., Maple Grove, Minnesota, was awarded a $23,747,748 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (N00167-26-D-4700) for engineering and fabrication services for propulsor demonstration hardware. This contract includes an option which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $24,481,470. Work will be performed in Louisville, Kentucky (90%); and Minneapolis, Minnesota (10%). This contract includes a five-year ordering period, inclusive of the option. Fiscal 2025 National Sea-Based Deterrence Fund funds in the amount of $1,863,387 will be obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
