Government Description
SEAFAC barge IX-527 and IX-528 overhauls involve preservation, inspection, repair, and maintenance services for the southeast Alaska acoustic measurement facility (SEAFAC) static site IX-527 and IX-528 barges located in back island, near ketchikan, Alaska. Includes towing the barges to the contractor facility, conducting inspections, performing general maintenance, making modifications to fuel systems, handrails, electric power distribution systems, alarm systems, and bilge strainers, conducting UT testing and steel repairs, replacing zincs, improving cable ways, and executing various structural modifications. Additional tasks include drydocking and undocking IX-527, developing a docking plan, providing temporary services such as emergency action plans and maintaining cleanliness, ensuring compliance with coast guard, abs, EPA, and OSHA regulations, providing weekly photographic documentation, and conducting inspections with government representatives present. The work is performed at contractor facilities and at SEAFAC on back island.
