ARL/UT - FY2017 - FY2022 REQUIREMENTS. SUPPORTS RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT, ENGINEERING, AND TEST AND EVALUATION FOR DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE (DOD) PROGRAMS IN CORE COMPETENCY AREAS INCLUDING ACOUSTICS, NAVIGATION, COMMAND AND CONTROL, AND WARFARE SYSTEMS. WORK PERFORMED INCLUDES ENGINEERING, DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT, AND EVALUATION OF HIGH FREQUENCY SONAR SYSTEMS, ACOUSTIC AND ELECTROMAGNETIC PROPERTIES, SIGNAL AND INFORMATION PROCESSING, NAVIGATION AND PRECISE LOCATION TECHNOLOGIES, AND MISSION-RELATED RESEARCH. ADDITIONAL TASKS ENCOMPASS ADVANCED SONAR SIMULATION SOFTWARE, UNMANNED UNDERWATER VEHICLE (UUV) CAPABILITIES DEVELOPMENT, ACOUSTIC INTELLIGENCE DATA STUDIES, SENSOR SYSTEM UPGRADES, AND WATERSIDE SECURITY SYSTEM ENHANCEMENTS.

The Applied Research Laboratory University of Texas at Austin, Austin, Texas, is being awarded a $458,180,014 cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for research, development, engineering and test and evaluation for programs throughout the Department of Defense (DoD). This contract provides research and development in the core competency areas approved by the DoD for University of Texas at Austin, which include engineering, research, design development and test and evaluation of acoustics, navigation, command and control and warfare systems. This contract includes an option which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value to $1,090,288,193. Work will be performed in Austin, Texas, and is expected to be completed by September 2022. Fiscal 2017 research, development, test and evaluation (Navy) funds in the amount of $340,000 will be obligated at time of award under delivery order N00024-17-F-8600 and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured, in accordance with 10 U.S. Code 2304 (c)(3) industrial mobilization, engineering, developmental or research capability or expert services.
