DYE TERMINAL REMOVAL PLATES ARE REQUIRED FOR DNA TESTING IN SUPPORT OF THE OFFICE OF THE ARMED FORCES MEDICAL EXAMINER SYSTEM (AFMES) MISSION. THE PERFORMA DTR ULTRA 96-WELL PLATE KITS FROM EDGE BIOSYSTEMS, INC. ARE USED TO PURIFY AND FILTER DYE TERMINATORS IN SEQUENCING CHEMISTRY, WHICH IS A CRITICAL STEP IN DNA IDENTIFICATION OF HUMAN REMAINS. THESE KITS FEATURE COLUMNS ARRANGED IN A STANDARDIZED ARRAY AND ARE PACKED WITH A GEL MATRIX OPTIMIZED FOR REMOVING DYE TERMINATORS, DNTPS, SALTS, LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT MATERIALS, DNA PRIMERS, AND FRAGMENTS UP TO 15 BASES, AS WELL AS BUFFERS AND NUCLEOTIDES LABELED WITH BIOTIN AND OTHER MARKERS. THE PLATES ARE PRE-PACKED WITH A FULLY HYDRATED MATRIX TO ENSURE OPTIMAL HANDLING AND PERFORMANCE.
