Government Description
Military medical treatment facility healthcare facility accreditation services provided to support clinical quality management based on nationally recognized, evidence-based standards integrated with high reliability principles and continuous standards compliance. The Defense Health Agency (DHA) Healthcare Facility Accreditation Services (HFAS) include accreditation of Military Health System (MHS) healthcare facilities by an external, nationally recognized accreditation organization through onsite surveys, covering hospital, virtual/telehealth services, ambulatory clinics, dental clinics, ambulatory surgical centers, behavioral healthcare, and home health care. Services also include certification of Military Treatment Facility (MTF) Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) services, initial accreditation and certification for newly realigned mtfs, sustainment of existing accreditation and certification, and provision of tools and training for continuous compliance and quality improvement.
