Government Description
MULTI-MISSION VARIABLE STABILITY AIRCRAFT AND SUPPORT. THE SERVICE INCLUDES PROVIDING A REMOTELY PILOTED AIRCRAFT SURROGATE, AIRCRAFT DYNAMICS AND CONTROL EDUCATION, AND RESEARCH USING CONTRACTOR-OWNED AND OPERATED AIRCRAFT AND GROUND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT. THE CONTRACTOR SUPPLIES A LEARJET EQUIPPED TO EMULATE VARIOUS AIRCRAFT CONFIGURATIONS, ALLOWING USAF TEST PILOT SCHOOL (TPS) STUDENT PILOTS TO OPERATE FROM A GROUND-BASED CONTROL STATION AND SIMULATE DIFFERENT FLYING QUALITIES AND CONTROL LAW ARCHITECTURES. ADDITIONAL SERVICES INCLUDE A GROUND SIMULATOR, GROUND TEST EQUIPMENT, VARIABLE STABILITY SYSTEM FLIGHTS, HQ PROJECT FLIGHTS, RPA PERFORMANCE DATA GROUP SORTIES, CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT, STAFF FAMILIARIZATION, AND RPA CURRICULUM SUPPORT.

This contract provides for the acquire services for a multi-mission variable stability aircraft, instructor pilots, ground instructors, simulator and flight test engineers, appropriate other flight crew and ground personnel to instruct aircraft flying qualities, handling qualities, RPA and associated systems, ground testing and support for special projects as required. Work will be performed at Edwards Air Force Base, California, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2030. This contract was a sole source acquisition, and one offer was received.
