Government Description
Prototype operations I (POPS-I) provides pre-launch and on-orbit satellite operations services for Research, Development, Test, And Evaluation (RDT&E), prototype, and experimental satellites, primarily at the RDT&E Support Complex (RSC) at Kirtland Air Force Base (AFB), New Mexico, and for other entities such as peterson-schriever garrison, Colorado. The contract delivers technical and on-console support for concept development, readiness, launch, on-orbit test and evaluation operations, and analysis activities, including pre-launch planning, launch and early orbit vehicle checkout, anomaly resolution, mishap investigation, re-entry operations, and orbital analysis. POPS-I supports missions such as Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) Secondary Payload Adapter (ESPA) Augmented Geostationary Laboratory Experiment (EAGLE), mycroft, Long Duration Propulsive ESPA (LDPE)-1 and LDPE-2, TETRA-1, TETRA-2, Operationally Responsive Space (ORS)-5, Navigation Technology Satellite-3 (NTS-3), and United States Space Force-12 (USSF-12), as well as providing satellite operations and associated support services for the ROOSTER-4, TETRA-3, TETRA-4, and TETRA-5 missions.

This contract provides for research and development satellite operations and support services. Work will be performed at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico; and Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, and is expected to be completed by May 29, 2029.
