Government Description
SUSTAINMENT OF GUIDANCE SYSTEM FOR MINUTEMAN III MISSILE. SUPPORTS THE MINUTEMAN III (MMIII) INTERCONTINENTAL BALLISTIC MISSILE (ICBM) GUIDANCE SUBSYSTEM TO ENSURE OPERATIONAL CAPABILITY AND MEET WARFIGHTER REQUIREMENTS, INCLUDING WORK ON SUSTAINING ENGINEERING, OPERATIONAL READINESS ASSESSMENTS, NUCLEAR HARDNESS AND SURVIVABILITY, INTEGRATION, TEST AND EVALUATION, FIELD SUPPORT, TECHNICAL ORDER SUPPORT, DISPOSAL, NUCLEAR SURETY, PROGRAM MANAGEMENT, INTEGRATED PRODUCT TEAM SUPPORT, AND CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT SUPPORT. ADDITIONAL TASKS INCLUDE MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING, MODIFICATION OF SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT, HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE, DEVELOPMENTAL AND PRODUCTION ENGINEERING, PROCUREMENT, REPLENISHMENT, REPAIR, REFURBISHMENT, MATERIALS AND SUBCOMPONENT ANALYSIS AND TESTING (INCLUDING AGING SURVEILLANCE), AND ENSURING COMPATIBILITY WITH EXISTING AND FUTURE MMIII SUSTAINMENT SYSTEMS AND PROGRAMS. THE EFFORT ALSO COVERS DEMILITARIZATION AND DISPOSAL TASKS SUPPORTING THE RETIREMENT OF THE MMIII WEAPON SYSTEM.

The Boeing Co., Hill Air Force Base, Utah, was awarded a $1,615,000,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for guidance subsystem support. This contract provides for Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile guidance subsystem support. Work will be performed at Hill AFB, Utah, and is expected to be completed by Feb. 1, 2039. This contract was a sole source acquisition. Fiscal 2023 operation and maintenance funds in the amount of $8,345,086 are being obligated at the time of award.
