Government Description
This acquisition is for contractor support services to assist the sld 45 in providing launch pad safety support services. Provides operations and technical support, including analysis, identification, and mitigation of hazards associated with safety-critical and hazardous material handling equipment, acoustic hazards, cryogenic systems, ordnance systems, and solid and liquid propellant systems used in the space launch industry. Services include ensuring safe execution of propellant, ordnance, and lifting operations; verifying installation and testing of Flight Termination Systems (FTS); reviewing hazardous operations procedures and developing safety plans; conducting inspections and on-site visits; and supporting prelaunch and launch countdown operations, including rapid incident response. Support is provided to a wide range of programs and locations, including ccafs, Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Patrick Space Force Base (PAFB), and other US government launch facilities, with flexible and dependable safety support to ensure public, launch base, and launch complex safety for range users.

Jan 2022: Metis Technology Partners LLC, Moffett Field, California, has been awarded a $34,453,277 firm-fixed price, cost-plus fixed-fee and cost reimbursable contract for the Pad Safety Support Contract II. This contract provides for safety support to range users as well as flight termination installation compliance verifications, incident response support and reporting and hazardous operations oversight. Work will be performed at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2031. This award is the result of a competitive acquisition and two offers were received. Fiscal 2022 operations and maintenance funds in the amount of $3,000 are being obligated at the time of award. The 45th Contracting Squadron, Patrick Space Force Base, Florida, is the contracting activity (FA2521-22-D-0002).
