Overview
Government Description
Five (5) year, enterprise-wide cost-reimbursement (NO-FEE) Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) to provide independent scientific, technical, engineering and advisory services to all National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and Department of Energy (DOE) headquarters program offices and field offices. Work performed under this contract includes studies and advisory services on carbon management justice considerations, the impacts of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and small business technology transfer (STTR) programs, electricity system operability and reliability research, and geothermal technologies. Additional tasks involve business administration support for the Committee on Earth Resources (CER), assessments and recommendations on J40 programs, social science consensus studies, enabling regional energy water demonstrations, and studies on net metering and the environmental effects of nuclear war. The contract also supports international security and arms control dialogues, workshops on energy infrastructure, and forums on informed investment, technology, and policy pathways for the electricity system.
