Government Description
Aircraft and Spaceflight Systems Engineering Support Services (ASSESS) focuses on research and technology development support and related services for exploration technology and aeronautics. Includes supporting NASA ames research center's aeronautics and technology mission objectives, particularly improving aircraft and airspace safety and transitioning advanced aeronautics technologies into future air vehicles. Tasks performed include aeromechanics and structural dynamics analysis, vertical lift support, computational fluid dynamics for rotorcraft and helios projects, support for the system analysis office, rotorcraft technology office, and aeronautics projects office, as well as support for entry systems and technology projects such as thermal protection systems. Additional work involves development and engineering in computational fluid dynamics for the NASA advanced supercomputing computational aerosciences branch and computational physics branch.
