Government Description
The NIA genotyping outsourcing project provides genotyping support services for the National Institute on Aging (NIA). The contractor performs dna extraction and isolation from rodent biological samples, conducts pcr assays for genotyping one to ten genes per sample, retests failed or questionable analyses at no additional charge, and completes quality assurance analysis on 1% of samples weekly. Results are delivered within 72 hours via a secure, section 508-COMPLIANT online bioinformatics database that interfaces with the NIA progeny database, with reproducible assay information and raw data available upon request.
