INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE, ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH, AND SAFETY SUPPORT SERVICES PROVIDED TO SUPPORT THE MISSION OF THE DIVISION OF OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (DOHS), THE NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH (NIH), AND THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES. INCLUDES REVIEWING ASBESTOS ABATEMENT PLANS FOR COMPLIANCE, EVALUATING AND MONITORING INDOOR AIR FOR CHEMICAL, BIOLOGICAL, AND PHYSICAL STRESSORS, CONDUCTING INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH STUDIES, COLLECTING ENVIRONMENTAL AND INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE SAMPLES, OVERSEEING HAZARDOUS MATERIAL ABATEMENT AND REMEDIATION, CONDUCTING SURVEYS FOR WASTE ANESTHETIC GAS EXPOSURE AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS, ANALYZING WATER SAMPLES, SURVEYING FOOD SERVICE OPERATIONS, AND PROVIDING TECHNICAL PERSONNEL FOR DOHS ACTIVITIES. SERVICES ARE PERFORMED ON AN AS-NEEDED BASIS, PRIMARILY AT NIH FACILITIES, AND REQUIRE DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE IN CLINICAL AND BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH ENVIRONMENTS.
