Government Description
Nida center for genetic studies. The work involves maintaining and expanding the ncgs as a repository to receive, process, and store de-identified clinical, diagnostic, pedigree, environmental exposure, and other phenotypic data, as well as biospecimens including blood, cell lines, skin fibroblasts, dna, rna, serum, saliva, hair, urine, and fecal matter from research on the genetics of addiction and addiction vulnerability. Tasks include creating databases and biological materials, distributing data and materials to qualified Investigators, Performing Microarray Typing, State-Of-The-Art Sequencing For Genomic, Epigenomic, And Transcriptome Analyses, Chromatin Capture, And Supporting The Creation of Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (IPSCS). The contract also requires the development of cyberinfrastructure for data interoperability, advanced encryption methods, and facilitating the upload of genetic data to NIH databases such as biosample and dbgap.
