Government Description
Coronary artery risk development in young adults (CARDIA) study - Coordinating Center (CC). The coordinating center provides support services to address new questions about the development and progression of clinical cardiovascular disease (CVD) and related conditions. Responsibilities include maximizing the use of data and samples, enhancing statistical power for analyses of clinical event predictors, studying the progression of risk factors from subclinical to clinical CVD, and identifying new risk factors or interactions that inform disease pathophysiology. The coordinating center also supports field centers in cohort follow-up, data collection on clinical events, scientific collaborations, and the conduct of limited clinical examinations as a platform for ancillary study components.
