Government Description
OPERATION, MAINTENANCE, AND SUPPORT OF THE FAA TOWER SIMULATION SYSTEMS (TSS) USED FOR TECHNICAL/OPERATIONAL TRAINING OF CONTROLLERS AT SELECTED FAA AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWERS (ATCTS). INCLUDES ESTABLISHING AND MAINTAINING TSS PROGRAM INFRASTRUCTURE, PROGRAM MANAGEMENT, ENGINEERING DESIGN AND SUPPORT, EQUIPMENT PURCHASE, TRAINING, DEPOT SUPPORT, INSTALLATION AND TESTING, AND MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT OF A CONTRACTOR LOGISTICS SUPPORT (CLS) PROGRAM. PROVIDES A HELP DESK WITH TECHNICAL AND AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL (ATC) SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS (SMES), A TRAINING SYSTEM SUPPORT CENTER (TSSC), ON-SITE CONTRACTOR FIELD SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES/TECHNICIANS (FSRS/FSTS), AND A WEB-BASED INTEGRATED DATA ENVIRONMENT (WIDE) DATA REPOSITORY. ADDITIONAL TASKS INCLUDE TSS OPERATOR AND MAINTENANCE TRAINING, TECHNICAL REFRESH OF MAJOR TSS COMPONENTS, ON-SITE FIELD SUPPORT, SCENARIO DEVELOPMENT LAPTOPS, VISUAL DATABASE (VDB) DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE, AND PROVISION OF HARDWARE COMPONENTS AND PSEUDO PILOT CONSOLES.
