Government Description
Assessing lead bioavailability in environmental media. Burleson Research Technologies Inc. (BRTI) conducts in vivo mouse assays to determine the bioavailability of lead and arsenic in soil and dust samples selected by the EPA, supporting EPA’s strategy to reduce lead exposures and disparities in U.S. Communities. BRTI performs assays using test diets amended with materials from selected sites, collects biological tissue samples, and provides EPA with specified data such as daily food and water consumption and biological samples. Eight mouse assays were completed to assess lead bioavailability in soil and dust samples.
