Overview
Government Description
Environmental engineering support for clean water regulations is provided. The contractor supports the EPA Office of Water (OW), Office of Science and Technology (OST), and Engineering And Analysis Division (EAD) in developing and implementing clean water regulations by collecting, compiling, analyzing, and presenting data and information for regulatory decision-making. Tasks include producing analyses, technical reports, papers, and studies for a range of industries such as metal finishing, meat and poultry products, steam electric power generation, textiles, landfills, plastics, petroleum refining, electroplating, paint formulating, leather tanning, centralized wastewater treatment, nanomaterials, and others, as well as reviewing regulated and unregulated industries. Additional work performed includes support for effluent guidelines revisions (E.G., for chrome finishers, landfills, oil and gas extraction, steam electric, and centralized waste treatment), detailed studies (E.G., for concentrated animal feeding operations, textiles manufacturing, pfas processors), engineering analysis for meat and poultry products, rulemaking for organic chemicals, plastics and synthetic fibers, technical assistance, evaluating industrial discharges for potential national regulations, studies of publicly owned treatment works influent, and support for water infrastructure improvements and storage tanks.
