Government Description
SUBSISTENCE PRIME VENDOR PROGRAM FOR FOOD AND FOODSERVICE SUPPLIES, EXCLUDING FRESH BREAD, FRESH MILK, AND FRESH PRODUCE FOR LOCAL PROCUREMENT. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES A BROAD VARIETY OF SUBSISTENCE COMMODITIES AND ANCILLARY FOODSERVICE SUPPLIES TO 171 VA MEDICAL CENTERS (VAMC), 160 VETERANS CANTEEN SERVICE RETAIL FOODSERVICE SITES, AND 135 OTHER GOVERNMENT AGENCIES (OGAS) HEALTHCARE FACILITIES. INCLUDES THE PURCHASE AND DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD ITEMS, NON-FOOD ITEMS, AND CULINARY SUPPLIES TO SUPPORT FOOD PRODUCTION, SERVICE NEEDS, AND EMERGENCY MEAL KITS FOR PARTICIPATING CUSTOMERS NATIONWIDE, INCLUDING SUPPORT FOR MOBILE KITCHENS AND INCIDENT RESPONSE OPERATIONS.
