Government Description
Non-emergent medical transportation provides reliable and efficient transportation services for veteran patients at the Veterans Affairs Long Beach Healthcare System (VALBHS). The contractor delivers wheelchair, gurney, and hired car transportation services 24/7, including holidays, primarily within long beach, Los Angeles, san diego, imperial county, san bernardino, riverside, and ventura counties, with occasional service to other southern California counties as well as Arizona and Nevada. Services include operating a dispatch center, ensuring vehicles are in excellent mechanical condition with safety features, fulfilling daily transportation requests, safely transporting veterans exposed to infectious diseases, allowing escorts for patients at no additional cost, and maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
