Government Description
Blood and blood products provided to the puget sound VA medical center. The contractor supplies blood bank products and services for veteran patients at the seattle division of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS), including 24/7 availability of blood products with stat and asap delivery requirements. Consultative services provided, such as access to a pathologist trained in transfusion medicine, technical support for equipment and testing, interpretation, and emergency management. The contractor also delivers monthly reports on turnaround times, utilization, transfusion reactions, and unacceptable specimens, and communicates any downtimes with contingency plans.
