Government Description
GROUND AMBULANCE SERVICES PROVIDED FOR THE MARION VA MEDICAL CENTER (VAMC). THE CONTRACTOR DELIVERS NON-EMERGENCY AMBULANCE TRANSPORTATION FOR THE MARION IL VAMC, ITS ASSOCIATED COMMUNITY-BASED OUTPATIENT CLINICS (CBOCS), AND AFFILIATED HEALTHCARE CLINICS, INCLUDING STRETCHER TRANSPORTS, BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS), ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (ALS), AND CRITICAL CARE TRANSPORT (CCT) SERVICES. ALL VEHICLES, PERSONNEL, MANAGEMENT, SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT, AND NECESSARY REPORTING ARE FURNISHED FOR THESE SERVICES, WITH PERSONNEL MEETING FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL QUALIFICATIONS. TASKS ALSO INCLUDE TRANSPORTING PATIENTS WITH THEIR LUGGAGE AND MEDICAL ITEMS AT NO ADDITIONAL COST, MAINTAINING VEHICLE CLEANLINESS AND REPAIR, UTILIZING VA-APPROVED TRANSPORTATION SOFTWARE, COMPLYING WITH TUBERCULOSIS EXPOSURE CONTROL POLICIES, AND CONDUCTING BACKGROUND CHECKS ON ALL PERSONNEL.
