Government Description
NEMT SERVICE FOR DETROIT VAMCE PROVIDES NON-EMERGENCY MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION FOR VETERANS AT THE JOHN D. DINGELL VA MEDICAL CENTER AND ITS ASSOCIATED CBOCS. THE CONTRACTOR SUPPLIES ALL VEHICLES, PERSONNEL, MANAGEMENT, EQUIPMENT, AND REPORTING NECESSARY FOR BOTH AMBULATORY AND NON-AMBULATORY TRANSPORTATION, ENSURING 24/7 AVAILABILITY AND COMPLIANCE WITH FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL REGULATIONS. SERVICES INCLUDE SIMULTANEOUS TRANSPORT CAPACITY FOR UP TO FOURTEEN AMBULATORY AND FOUR NON-AMBULATORY PATIENTS, HANDLING OF PATIENT LUGGAGE AND SERVICE ANIMALS AT NO EXTRA COST, AND ADHERENCE TO THE VA’S VETRIDE ORDERING SYSTEM AND TUBERCULOSIS EXPOSURE CONTROL POLICIES. TIMELY RESPONSE TO TRANSPORT REQUESTS AND AN AUDIT SYSTEM INVOLVING VA STAFF ARE ALSO REQUIRED TO ENSURE SERVICE QUALITY.
