Government Description
NON-EMERGENCY SPECIAL MODE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES PROVIDED. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DELIVERING WHEELCHAIR AND STRETCHER TRANSPORT FOR VETERANS, INCLUDING UP TO 24,000 WHEELCHAIR TRIPS AND 1,250 STRETCHER TRIPS PER YEAR DURING THE DAY, AS WELL AS 500 WHEELCHAIR AND 250 STRETCHER TRIPS AT NIGHT. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE UP TO 300 INSTANCES OF WAIT TIME PER YEAR AND 8,000 MILES OF OUTSIDE MILEAGE ANNUALLY. SERVICES MUST MEET A 97% ON-TIME COMPLIANCE RATE, UTILIZE VEHICLES MEETING DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS, AND EMPLOY QUALIFIED SHUTTLE BUS (VAN) DRIVERS FOR PATIENT TRANSPORT TO AND FROM THE LT. COL. LUKE WEATHERS JR. VA MEDICAL CENTER IN MEMPHIS, TN.
