Government Description
Non-emergent ambulance service. Provides Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) non-emergency ambulance transportation for patients, including round trips where the patient is transported to an appointment and returned to the original pick-up location after the appointment. All trips are triaged by VA special mode transportation coordinators, and emergency (911) calls are not included. The contractor is required to use the vetride electronic ordering software and may bill for long-distance transports using a flat rate plus an excess mileage rate.
