Government Description
VISN 5 regulated medical waste and sharps removal services provided for all VISN 5 VA medical centers (VAMCS) and their associated community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCS). The contractor is responsible for the collection, transportation, and disposal of regulated medical waste and sharps in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Services include providing compliant containers, maintaining records of waste disposal, and training staff on proper waste handling procedures. All waste is handled safely and securely throughout the process at VISN 5 facilities in Maryland, the district of columbia, West Virginia, and portions of Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Kentucky.
