Government Description
Community Emergency Residential Services (CERS) provides 24/7 emergency residential services for homeless male and female veterans as part of the Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) program at the Washington dc VA medical center. Services include safe housing with onsite supportive services, mental health stabilization, substance use disorder treatment, enhancement of independent living skills, vocational training, and assistance in obtaining permanent housing through referrals and community resources. The program also conducts regular case management meetings to monitor progress towards housing goals and ensures compliance with safety codes and ada standards, while maintaining communication with VA liaisons regarding client care and incidents.
