Government Description
Wheelchair van services provided for the VA Maryland healthcare system to ensure safe and reliable transportation for eligible beneficiaries to various medical facilities. The contractor supplies all necessary labor, supervision, equipment, uniforms, and related items to perform wheelchair van transportation services in compliance with VHA directive 2008-020. Services include transportation to and from VA medical centers and clinics, coverage for the vamhcs 24/7, adherence to a minimum 90% timely response rate for pick-up requests, and the ability to transport one veteran beneficiary per trip unless otherwise authorized. Wait time reimbursement is provided after a 30-MINUTE grace period.
