Overview
Government Description
VISN-4 Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) removal services provides complete MSW services for all VISN-4 medical centers and associated Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC), including the identification, segregation, collection, handling, transport, storage, reduction, diversion, treatment, and disposal of solid waste. The contractor supplies all labor, materials, equipment, maintenance, repairs, supplies, transportation, management, expertise, and supervision to perform these services, and is responsible for furnishing and maintaining refuse and recycling containers. Services also include scrap metal pickups at multiple sites, increased frequency of pickups at specific locations, and the implementation of a diversion program tailored to each facility to improve diversion rates and support Green Environmental Management System (GEMS) programs. All work is performed in compliance with applicable VA, federal, state, and local regulations, and the contractor must maintain all required certifications to handle or transport MSW.
