Government Description
Provide medical expert consulting services for the western regions (5, 7-10), and the National Hearing Center (NHC) in hearings before an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). Services include providing Medical Expert (ME) witnesses to deliver study, interrogatories, and testimony in hearings at which claimants are appealing denial of certain benefits administered by SSA. Medical expert services are also performed for regions 1-4 and 6 as back-up, and cover specialties such as audiology, medical oncology, and nephrology. Includes responding to interrogatories, conducting studies, and providing expert testimony for SSA Office of Hearings Operations (OHO) hearings.
