Government Description
MAINFRAME CLOUD TRANSITION SERVICES AND SUPPORT PROVIDED TO ASSIST THE BUREAU OF THE FISCAL SERVICE IN MIGRATING MAINFRAME-DEPENDENT IT APPLICATIONS FROM ON-PREMISES DATA CENTERS IN PARKERSBURG, WV AND KANSAS CITY, MO TO A CLOUD MAINFRAME PLATFORM, SUCH AS IBM SMARTCLOUD OR EQUIVALENT. INCLUDES DEVELOPING AND EXECUTING TRANSITION PLANS, ESTABLISHING INFRASTRUCTURE AND NETWORK CONNECTIVITY, SUPPORTING APPLICATION AND ENVIRONMENT TESTING, AND PERFORMING CUTOVER ACTIVITIES. ONGOING OPERATIONAL SUPPORT ENCOMPASSES INCIDENT MANAGEMENT, BATCH JOB SCHEDULING, SYSTEM OPERATIONS, SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE MAINTENANCE, DISASTER RECOVERY, LOGGING, CHANGE MANAGEMENT, AND CAPACITY MANAGEMENT, AS WELL AS SURGE SERVICES TO INCREASE CLOUD ENVIRONMENT CAPACITY AS NEEDED. SUPPORT MAY ALSO BE PROVIDED FOR NON-MAINFRAME DEPENDENT APPLICATIONS TRANSITIONING TO CLOUD PLATFORMS, WITH CLOUD ENGINEERS AND SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS ENGAGED IN THESE ACTIVITIES.
