Government Description
Fixed wing fire exclusive use utility (Fort Wainwright) provides exclusive use of fixed wing aircraft services at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, in support of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The contractor supplies two multi or single engine turbine, pressurized fixed wing aircraft for transportation of personnel and cargo for wildfire management and resource activities, fire detection, logistical support, aerial observation, and search and rescue operations. Aircraft must meet specific requirements including a minimum of nine insured passenger seats, removable cabin seats for cargo, a payload capacity of 2,000 pounds, a range of 375 nautical miles, and the ability to operate from a 3,000-FOOT gravel runway. All operations require compliance with 14 cfr 135 air carrier certificate and other certifications as specified by BLM.
