Government Description
Exclusive Use (EU) helicopter (HELO) type II fire flight services in support of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The designated base of operation is ft. Wainwright (FAIRBANKS), Alaska. Services include providing two fully contractor-operated and maintained EU helicopters based at ft. Wainwright and galena, Alaska, equipped with nine insured passenger seats (excluding pilot) and meeting specific requirements for seating, payload capacity, powerplant, landing gear, airspeed, and auxiliary fuel tanks. Missions include transport of personnel and/or cargo in support of natural resource missions such as fire suppression, fire monitoring, initial attack, prescribed fire and aerial ignition, law enforcement (limited to nonthreatening surveillance and reconnaissance), and other administrative and related resource activities.
