Indefinite Delivery Contract
Overview
Government Description
National Science Foundation (NSF) exclusive use fixed wing flight services in support of the Office of Polar Programs (OPP). These services utilize fully-functional aircraft operated and maintained by qualified personnel to meet science requirements for the United States Antarctic Program (USAP) and NSF’s arctic program. Aircraft are primarily used for utility transportation, ferrying personnel and materials to remote and often unprepared field locations in antarctica and the arctic, with operations based at mcmurdo station during the austral summer and extending across the antarctic continent and arctic regions. The contractor is required to maintain a small fleet of light and medium aircraft, demonstrating experience operating in remote, hostile polar conditions with limited support capabilities.
