Indefinite Delivery Contract

Overview

Government Description
USDA forest service cooperative national slow the spread (STS) program. Services are performed across 11 eastern states to reduce the rate of spread of specific moths (lymantria dispar) through aerial applications. The work involves annual aerial application of mating disruptants, specifically racemic disparlure, a synthetically produced gypsy moth pheromone, to suppress newly established gypsy moth populations by disrupting male moths' ability to locate and mate with females. Aircraft equipped with custom dispersal systems are used to apply the disruptants over designated treatment blocks in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Minnesota, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin during specified summer treatment windows.
