Grant Description
This application is to request FY2022 Section 5307 funds apportioned to the Green Bay Metro UZA in the amount of $2,906,720 for operating assistance ($2,141,890), preventative maintenance ($713,963), 1% security/surveillance ($29,067), and 0.75% safety ($21,800). Operating expenses are subject to a special rule cap for agencies with less than 75 buses. Preventative maintenance expenses are limited to allowable capitalized maintenance costs pursuant to FTA Circular 9030.1E Appendix E. Section 5307 funds will cover the period of January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022. The local share (cash match) of $2,333,098 will be provided by the State of Wisconsin, as well as our local municipalities (Cities of Green Bay and De Pere and Villages of Allouez, Ashwaubenon, and Bellevue).
This application is to request federal and state Section 5339 funds of $1,069,641, with a local share of $267,412. Green Bay allocation for FY2020 was $273,430, FY2021 was $252,210, and FY2022 is projected to be $241,754. WISDOT allocation for FY2019 was $149,367 and FY2020 was $152,880. The local share (cash match) of $267,412 will be provided by our local municipalities (Cities of Green Bay and De Pere and Villages of Allouez, Ashwaubenon, and Bellevue).
To meet the requirement that 0.75% of FY2022 Section 5307 funds will be used on safety, the Green Bay Metro will utilize the funds in ALI 11.42.20 - Acquire Misc Support Equipment in this grant to acquire driver survivor kits, garbage receptacles with open tops, and anti-slip flooring in entrance ways of the Green Bay Metro facility. Purpose: The purpose of this award is to provide operating assistance and preventative maintenance for the period of performance January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022. Funding will be used for HVAC, live video feed (buses), bus radios, office furniture, electronic/digital route info boards, facility lighting upgrades, maintenance shop bus lifts replacement, and air compressor to assist in fixed route transit operations during the period of January 2022 to December 2023.
Activities to be performed: Funds will be used to cover eligible operating and preventative maintenance expenses, such as driver salaries, fuel, and items having a useful life of less than one year, as well as the transit projects listed above.
Expected outcomes: Funding will permit Green Bay Metro Transit to meet preventative maintenance standards, continue to provide operations, and keep the facility and equipment in a state of good repair.
Intended beneficiaries: Green Bay Metro Transit and the riders that rely on public transportation services will benefit from continued services, permitting passengers to get to work, school, medical appointments, and other destinations.
