Grant Description
Application purpose: The purpose of this award is to replace or purchase buses and related equipment, expansion of a transit center hub, and replace a vehicle wash system in rural areas of Washington State.

Activities performed: Activities to be performed are to purchase and replace vehicles in the medium-duty and heavy-duty bus categories and to replace a failing bus wash system and design and construct a new transit hub.

Expected outcomes: Expected outcomes for these projects are to increase safety and performance by replacing older vehicles with newer ones.

They will improve access and mobility for transit riders and residents in rural Washington.

Intended beneficiaries: Intended beneficiaries are public transportation customers in rural counties who utilize public transportation services across the state of Washington.

Subrecipient activities: Subrecipient activities are to follow proper procurement processes to purchase approved vehicles and construct a new transit center.

Subrecipients may choose to conduct their own procurement or use the state cooperative master contract to purchase the vehicles.

Subrecipients: Grant Transit - purchase (4) heavy-duty buses (replacements), vehicle wash system replacement.

Grays Harbor Transit - purchase (3) medium-duty buses (replacements), purchase (2) medium-duty expansion buses.

Island Transit - design and build a transit center.
Funding Goals
THE GRANTS FOR BUSES AND BUS FACILITIES COMPETITIVE PROGRAM PROVIDES FUNDING TO REPLACE REHABILITATE AND PURCHASE BUSES AND RELATED EQUIPMENT AND TO CONSTRUCT BUS-RELATED FACILITIES INCLUDING TECHNOLOGICAL CHANGES OR INNOVATIONS TO MODIFY LOW OR NO EMISSION VEHICLES OR FACILITIES.
