Grant Description
Application Purpose: The Section 165 funds will provide financial support needed to design and build the Federal Way Link Extension (FWLE) project, a 7.8-mile light rail line that will extend from the existing Angle Lake Station to the Federal Way Transit Center in South King County. The project will serve population, employment, and education centers and provide opportunities for transit-oriented development.
Activities Performed: Activities to be undertaken with these funds include design and construction of the Federal Way Link Light Rail Extension.
Expected Outcomes: Benefits of the FWLE project include providing new light rail service from Angle Lake Station in SeaTac south to Federal Way with connections to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and downtown Seattle.
Intended Beneficiaries: Beneficiaries of the project include transit riders in the Sound Transit District, including urbanized areas of King County.
