Start Initial Application (00):
This application includes $3,500,000 in FY 2021 Section 5339(a) statewide formula funds allocated statewide for replacement, rehabilitation, and purchase of buses and related equipment which will support the continuation and expansion of public transportation services in the Washington State.

Purpose:
This grant allocates statewide replacement, rehabilitation, and purchase of buses and related equipment which will support the continuation and expansion of public transportation services in the Washington State.
Activities to be Performed:
Replace and purchase vehicles and related equipment in the medium-duty and light-duty bus paratransit vehicle and bus support equipment categories.
Expected Outcomes:
Increase safety and performance by replacing older vehicles with newer ones and by purchasing bus-related equipment. Maintaining an adequate level of commuter and demand-response services for people with special needs and general public transportation needs.
Intended Beneficiaries:
Public transportation customers who utilize public transportation services across the state of Washington.
Subrecipient Activities:
Follow proper procurement processes to purchase new vehicles. Subrecipients may choose to conduct their own procurement or use the state cooperative master contract to purchase the vehicles. Construction of passenger amenities such as bus shelters.
