Grant Description
A GRANT OF UP TO $8,346,019 TO THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINA FOR THE EXPANSION OF ALBERT G. HORTON, JR. MEMORIAL VETERANS CEMETERY IN SUFFOLK, VIRGINIA.THE CEMETERY SERVES MORE THAN 321,000 VETERANS AND THEIR ELIGIBLE FAMILY MEMBERS IN THE REGION. THE GRANT WILL FUND 2,410 CREMAINS GRAVESITES, LANDSCAPING, AND IRRIGATION.
Funding Goals
GRANTS MAY BE USED ONLY TO ESTABLISH, EXPAND, OR IMPROVE VETERANS CEMETERIES THAT ARE OWNED AND OPERATED BY A STATE, TERRITORY OR TRIBAL GOVERNMENT ON TRUST LAND.
