Overview
Grant Description
Application purpose: Provide funding for capital purchases to support Loudoun County.
Activities performed: Purchase of twenty-three (23) 29 foot replacement CNG buses. Construct a CNG/RNG fueling station. Rehab of maintenance facility training on CNG bus conversions.
Expected outcomes: This project will specifically support the statutory requirements of the LOW-NO program through the installation of a new innovative CNG/RNG fueling facility and low-emission transit services that will reduce energy consumption, harmful tailpipe emissions, and carbon emissions, providing improved health and environmental benefits.
In addition, this project will increase transit connectivity, enhance access and mobility for low-income and people with disabilities, and renew Loudoun County's transit system.
Intended beneficiaries: Loudoun County and the citizens of Leesburg, VA.
Subrecipient activities: VDRPT will act as the direct recipient for FTA funding for this grant and pass through the funding to Loudoun County.
