Grant Description
Application purpose: The purpose of the award is to use FY22 Section 5339C discretionary funds apportioned to the UZA El Paso TX-NM of total federal share of $8,876,712.00 for the purchase of zero-emission vehicles, electric charging stations, and workforce training.
Activities performed: Funds will be utilized for the following items: activities to be performed 350kW passenger vehicles, level 2 charging stations, training fleet staff.
Expected outcomes: This project will improve transportation services for our customers, contribute to workforce training leading to good paying jobs in the electrical industry, and will support Sun Metro's commitment to reduce carbon emissions and improve environmental justice for our underserved community.
Intended beneficiaries: Residents and customers of the El Paso Sun Metro transit service area.
Subrecipient activities: None.
