Brief Overview of the Residency Program: The ACGME accredited sponsoring institution is The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education (TWCGME), a 501C3 unowned graduate medical education safety-net consortium and HRSA's largest teaching health center program recipient for medical residency programs. TWCGME's internal medicine program was one of the originally funded THC GME programs in 2011. The main primary care training location of TWCGME internal medicine residents is The Wright Center for Community Health (TWCCH), an FQHC-LAL in serving approximately 33,000 patients who are predominantly non-Hispanic white (79.65%), adults (68.15%) who are at or below 200% of federal poverty guidelines (61.35%) and who are uninsured, on Medicaid, Medicare, or dually-eligible (59.54%). TWCGME trains IM residents together with residents in family medicine and psychiatry in lifestyle medicine and community-oriented primary care to address, through quality improvement and preventive practices, the needs of a rural, aging population.
8. Total Resident FTE Positions Requested to be Funded Under this Program for all Post-Graduate Years of Training is 9 in addition to the currently awarded 57 to bring the total to 66 (22-22-22).
9. FTE Positions Requested to be Funded Under this Program (HRSA-23-013) for AY 2023-2024 is 9 (9-0-0).
10. Rotation Sites: No new sites are planned.
