Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education Program - Name of the Training Program: The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education Psychiatry Residency Program. Brief Overview of the Residency Program: The ACGME accredited sponsoring institution is The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education (TWCGME), a 501c3 unowned graduate medical education safety-net consortium and HRSA's largest teaching health center program recipient for medical residency programs. TWCGME's psychiatry program was started in partnership with Geisinger Health System. The main primary care training location of TWCGME psychiatry residents is The Wright Center for Community Health (TWCCH), an FQHC-LAL in serving approximately 25,000 patients who are predominantly non-Hispanic white (79.26%) adults (69.50%) who are at or below 200% of federal poverty guideline (66.33%) and who are uninsured, on Medicaid, Medicare, or dually-eligible (59.07%). Only in its second year of being a look-alike, TWCCH earned 5 of 6 Community Health Center Quality Recognition (CHQR) badges. TWCGME trains psychiatry residents in best practices in recovery support services. Psychiatry residents also train with residents in internal medicine and family medicine in lifestyle medicine and community-oriented primary care to address, through quality improvement and preventive practices, the needs of a rural, aging population.

Total FTE positions requested to be funded under this program for all years of training: 34 (8-9-8-9) resident FTE. FTE positions requested to be funded under this program for AY 2022-2023: 6 (8-5-8-6.72).
