Overview
Grant Description
Application purpose: PDRTA will use this award to provide public transportation services in the urbanized region of our UZA.
PDRTA currently operates 6 counties out of our main admin and maintenance facilities in Florence County.
In the past 3 years, PDRTA has increased much service in the surrounding 5 counties including commuter service to the urbanized area.
This funding will allow PDRTA to continue providing reliable public transportation options in the urbanized area and increase service where needed.
Along with the fixed routes, PDRTA also provides ADA complementary paratransit, deviated paratransit, and demand response.
This award will provide operating, maintenance, and capital funding.
Activities performed: PDRTA provides fixed route, commuter, demand response, and ADA complementary paratransit services in Florence UZA.
PDRTA has a maintenance team that manages the PM on our fleet of buses.
Expected outcomes: PDRTA services are a lifeline for many residents without access to transportation options.
Our region remains limited on options for ride shares and taxi services.
60% of our passengers use our services to reach work each day while 23% use PDRTA for medical related trips.
Our goal is to sustain existing services under this application and also grow demand response reach in the urbanized area.
Intended beneficiaries: PDRTA provides services to many seniors, ADA veterans, working class, students, and other essential needs in our service area.
Subrecipient activities: PDRTA does not utilize 3rd party subrecipients to provide bus service.
